About Reiki

We realize at this time in history that we live in an interspiritual age. This means that the fruits of genuine spiritual awakening among us are blessing for all of us. One such flowering of the Spirit is what is known as Reiki. Reiki has become a very powerful healing energy on the planet today that is available to anyone who wishes to awaken to it. Dr. Mikao Usui, who died in 1926, is the person who rediscovered the ancient wisdom of Reiki. In a unique way he awoke to The Absolute as Universal Spirit directed life force that always wills the wholeness and blessing of every being. He is a testimony that we are all spiritual beings who only need awaken

to our deep spiritual nature.

 

This God consciousness (Rei-ki), which is our spiritual nature, gets obscured by our conditioning. We are meant to awaken to this and manifest it for our good and the good of others. What Dr. Usui passed on to us is a way of awakening through what is known as Reiki attunements done in initiations. These activate our innate spiritual capacities so that we can manifest, express and channel Reiki for our personal good and the good of all. The beauty and simplicity of Reiki is that all that is needed is the purity of our intention. We only need to intend that Reiki bless our self and others for the highest good that The Divine wills for us and open our selves to receive.

 

As we awaken to Reiki we also awaken to that consciousness within us that discerns where our imbalances are from our historical conditioning and knows how to heal them. It is a wonderful blessing to awaken to the Divine consciousness and to experience the blessings that are given us at every level of our being as we do self-Reiki. Likewise to experience these blessings as we receive a Reiki treatment can be very life giving and life transforming.

 

Remembering others as we send Reiki for their highest good makes us more aware of how we are so deeply one. We become aware of our sharing in the limitless Life of Divine Consciousness and of our capacity to bless each other in such a deep way. We can then send Reiki to the earth, all peoples, all creatures and the universe.

We are meant to know in an experiential way that we live in a Divine world, that we all share the superabundance of life that Divine Consciousness is – not outside us, but deep within us, within all beings. This meets a very deep need for all of us in a world that is so forgetful of what matters most, so caught up in the surface of life feeling overwhelmed. We feel this way because we have lost touch with The Source within us. Reiki can be integrated into whatever faith we may have. For the essence of faith always has its origins in the founders of the religions.

 

Each founder awoke to a direct experience of The Absolute and manifested unconditional love and compassion that are the authentic signs of true religion. The Spirit of Reiki that Dr. Usui has made known to us by his life and teaching are in every way consonant with this.
